What We're About

Seven of Hearts features wines from distinct appellations within Oregon's Willamette Valley and neighboring regions, including specific vineyards and portions ofvineyards that show unique characteristics.  Using traditional winemaking methods, ourgoal is small production wines of great purity, complexity, and elegance. 

What's Happening Now
That's it -- the fruit is all in!  It was a very late year, but a remarkable one.  What began as a very late start finsihed with a perfect ending.  We could not have asked for better conditions to fully ripen our fruit.  With all four vineyards in, we were able to tease the last bit of development out of the fruit from our outstanding vineyards.  Last fruit in October 28!

In the winery, the facility this year has given us tremendous opportunities to take further steps in perfecting our wines, particularly with the double sorting system and tank net monitor and control systems for managing each individual lot of wine in two ton staineless steel fermentors. Everything that has been harvested has been through cold soak, fermentation, and press.   Time for secondary fermentation...

In the meantime, we are getting ready for two big weekends:  the weekend before Thanksgiving, and Thanksgiving.  We will be open Friday - Sunday, 11am - 6pm both weekends, pouring our 2006 Pinot Noirs and Chardonnay and introducing two of our 2007 Pinot noirs.  Festivities will include light hors d'oeuvres, custom wine-tasting chocolates, gift baskets, and a lot of great conversation about wine.  Hope you will join us!
