With summer officially showing its true colors this month, Seven of Hearts will be releasing new, refreshing white & rosé wines to beat the heat! Our official white & rosé release will include 6 new wines, including the new 2015 Riesling from 43-year old vines. We will begin featuring our new whites & rosés on Saturday, June 4th and continue to pour them on our tasting flight this remainder of this month.
We’ve decided to offer generous discounts on our 2011 Pinot Noirs just in time for summer. 2011 was an difficult vintage, cooler and wetter than most recent years, but because of this the ’11 vintage offers a soft & inviting, light-bodied Pinot Noir which makes it a suitable summer red. When released, 2011 was “written off” by many major reviewers as an undesirable vintage however we firmly disagree for several reasons. 2011 allowed fruit to hang on the vine until late October in some instances. This extended time on the vine is beneficial for the grapes in developing complex flavor character. It’s what we call “hang time.” ’11s also retained higher acids because of the slow ripening. Acid is a natural preservative in wine that allows a wine to cellar longer. Much like 2007 which people cannot get enough of, 2011 will hit their stride in years to come but they are now just turning the corner into something wonderful. So without further ado, are the 2011’s we will be offering…

Seven of Hearts will be celebrating Carlton’s annual Porklandia this year. Join us to share
the love of everything pig. We’ll be pouring an extensive pork-friendly wine flight,
highlighting varietals for every porkavore. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and plenty of spicy Pinots. We’ll even be pulling from the library selection to celebrate by adding the 2011 GSM blend to the wine flight! And to top it all off, we’ll be pairing our 2014 Mourvèdre with chocolate-bacon bark, topped with smoked Jacobsen sea salt, courtesy of Honest Chocolates. We hope to see you there, oink oink!
