2011 Mourvedre Featured in Portland Monthly!

The folks at Portland Monthly recently did an article on Mourvedre, and SOH Mourvedre was one of the featured wines! I couldn’t agree more with the description. Mourvedre is a very unique varietal from the old world. Mostly found in Southern Rhone blends along with Grenache and Syrah, a straight Mourvedre is not so often seen yet outside of areas such as Paso Robles. We make a straight mourvedre that holds a special place in our hearts! This is the perfect, quintessential wine for those dark and stormy nights to come.2011-chatte-d-avignon-mourvedre

“With this brooding bottle, winemaker Byron Dooley showcases the darker side of Old World wines. Offering notes of smoke, leather, and inky black berries, this bottle will satisfy fans of heftier varietals.” Read article here.
