2009 Luminous Hills Estate Grown Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton

Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar, July/August 2011. By: Josh Raynolds. Medium red.  Aromas of black raspberry, spicecake and rose, plus a hint of star anise.  Juicy and sharply focused, offering red and dark berry flavors and a late note of bitter blood orange.  Graceful and precise on the spicy finish, which lingers with very good tenacity.  I like this wine’s nervy character. 90 points

Wine Spectator, July 31, 2011. By: Harvey Steinman. Velvety and subtle, with mint and savory spice accents around a lovely bead of red currant and raspberry fruit, persisting delicately on the long finish. Drink now through 2019. 357 cases made. 91 points

PinotFile, August 13, 2011. By: Rusty Gaffney, MD.  Moderately light reddish-purple color in the glass. Aromas of summer red fruits with hints of cedar and rose bouquet. Light on its feet, with tasty red berry and cherry flavors, complimentary oak highlights, and an aromatically floral finish. A discreetly composed and charming wine. Very Good. Read full review here: http://princeofpinot.com/tastingnote/4432/
